LEMMY KICKS OFF THE NEW YEAR GETTING INKED

What a way for Lemmy Kilmister, Motörhead’s legendary frontman, to start
the new year: making an an indelible impression on national TV, with the
band’s new song from /Motörizer/, “Rock Out” as the soundtrack.

The national cable TV show, LA INK, one of The Learning Channel’s most
talked about programs, will be featuring Lemmy getting his three current
tattoos touched up by ink vixen, Kat Von D.

As noted on the TLC website:
LA INK- this Thursday, January 8, 2009 – 10:00 PM

This TV feature is a companion piece to the recent Lemmy/Motörhead
article in the January, 2009 issue of INKED Magazine, their best-selling
issue ever. In it, Lemmy discusses:

- the three tattoos: The Ace of Spades (left forearm), a Capricorn sign
(left shoulder) and an Indian shield (right forearm).

- his first tattoo: In 1973 in Dayton, Ohio when he was in Hawkwind. It
was a marijuana leaf, which he’s since had covered up because it looked
like “a pizza with wings.” It’s now an Indian shield.

- the biggest tattoo disaster he’s seen: A friend of theirs was getting
“Born to Lose” tattooed on her arm, and the guy was about to spell it
with two o’s – “Born to Loose.” Lemmy saved her just in time.

- some wild Motörhead tattoos he’s seen: Says Lemmy, “A friend of ours
in Germany has his entire back covered with the logo and he’s got us
tattooed on the sides of his head and chest. He’s got our faces on the
calves of his legs.” Now that’s a fan!

**side bar – many of the band’s fans have sent in pix of their very own
beloved Motörhead tats. Check ‘em out and send in yours:

The hard-livin’ Englishman goes on to talk about politics, strippers,
UFOs, sex, gambling, ghosts, porn stars and being a roadie for Jimi
Hendrix. Just the normal interview stuff. Oh, and a bit about the
Lemmy movie that’s in the works.

TV, film and print. Lemmy…he’s just your typical all-around guy.
