THE PUNISHER: WAR ZONE SOUNDTRACK APPROACHES
Fans are already getting behind THE PUNISHER: WAR ZONE, catapulting the
soundtrack’s powerful first single into the #1 Most Added spot at Active
Rock Radio. “War Zone” by the legendary Rob Zombie was released as a single
on iTunes on October 31. This original track, written for the film, is the
first new music in three years from iconic rock hero Rob Zombie and has
already been heard and linked to by thousands of fans via the film’s website
(www.punisherwarzonemovie.com), where it was posted in its entirety on
Monday 10/20/08.
“War Zone” is not the only new music to appear on THE PUNISHER: WAR ZONE
soundtrack. Hardcore heavyweights Hatebreed contributed with a brand-new
cover of one of the greatest metal songs of all time – Sepultura’s “Refuse /
Resist” – which is a preview of the band’s forthcoming covers album in 2009.
“We’re excited to be a part of the Punisher soundtrack once again and we’re
pumped to give our fans a little taste of what our covers album is going to
sound like,” says Hatebreed frontman Jamey Jasta.
Static-X, Senses Fail, Rise Against, and 7 Days Away all contributed new
tracks to the soundtrack, which will serve as previews for their upcoming
2009 releases.
THE PUNISHER: WAR ZONE soundtrack is a lethal collection of songs from such
heavy metal giants as Slayer and Slipknot as well as up-and-comers like Rise
Against and official Lionsgate/Clear Channel “Unsigned Artist Contest”
winners, 7 Days Away.
7 Days Away commented on their track, “Take Me Away,”: “The song has taken
on a new meaning and an incredible life of its own. We never thought “Take
Me Away” would actually mean that we would be ‘taken away’ to a new level of
accomplishments. This song hopefully will take 7 Days Away away to reach all
our dreams, and we have Lionsgate and Shaun Morgan to thank.”
The fifteen-track album attacks stores on 11/25/08. The film opens
nationwide on December 5th, 2008.
