REPO! THE GENETIC OPERA Soundtrack Update
LOS ANGELES, CA – Lionsgate, the leading independent film entertainment
studio and Twisted Pictures announces the roster of top rock musicians
enlisted for the REPO! THE GENETIC OPERA, movie soundtrack. The soundtrack
will see a September 30, 2008 digital release, and will ship with the DVD in
January 2009.
The all-star soundtrack boasts Paris Hiltons first ever singing role and
Soprano Diva Sarah Brightman’s first ever leading role in a feature film
alongside Industrial rock icon OhGr. The soundtrack is dripping with hook
driven tracks and catchy singalongs that are so infectious you’ll be singing
them long after leaving the theater.

REPO! The Genetic opera soundtrack also includes performances by artists

(Slipknot), Ray Luzier (Korn, Army of Anyone), Brian Young (David Lee Roth
band), Richard Fortus (Guns N’ Roses), Sonny Moore (First to Last), David J
(Bauhaus, Love and Rockets), Daniel Ash (Love and Rockets), Blasko (Ozzy
Osborne band), Tommy Clefetus (Rob Zombie band), Melora Creager (Rasputina),
and Rami Jaffee (Wallflowers), Danny Saber (Busta Rhymes, SEAL) and solo

REPO! The Genetic Opera opens in select theaters November 7th. On November

The film is directed by Darren Lynn Bousman (SAW franchise, REPO! THE
GENETIC OPERA stage play). Darren Smith and Terrance Zdunich, co-creators of
the original New York and Los Angeles stage production, wrote the film’s
screenplay, music and lyrics. Smith composed, arranged, and performed the
film’s score. Zdunich acts in the film. With more than 90 minutes of music
and over 57 songs, REPO! THE GENETIC OPERA is reputed to have the most
original music of any movie in film history! REPO – The Genetic Rock Opera – future rock opera cult- horror musical phenom whose cast and crew reclaim
midnight.

“The music is the movie. It defined everything. I would put the music on
my ipod and walk around and let it decide the shots – the look of the entire
movie. Music is a powerful thing, the most powerful thing. Each of the
songs in REPO is so different. One second it’s Goth rock, the next it’s
flat out opera. So making the film stylized was a must. I wanted each
song to have its own feel visually. Repo is something people haven’t seen

hours of just listening and making notes about styles and ideas, then
refining that into a wish list of who-to-play-on-what. With the massive
volume of music involved here, there was a wide assortment of stylistic
approaches that were all valid, just different from track to track – there’s
no one genre ‘REPO!’ music falls into, but the signature became a spirit
that runs through it all… basically an allowance to use anything, to
record anything, from world class opera singers to vintage electronics and

REPO! The Genetic Opera -the film:
It’s the not-so-distant future. Organ failure is rampant, and the company
responsible for the transplants isn’t acting out of altruism. If someone
misses a payment, Repo Men come to reclaim what belongs to the company. For
his horror-infused movie opera, Bousman assembles a varied cast: SPY KIDS’
Alexa Vega, BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER’s Anthony Stewart Head, horror legend
Bill Moseley, Paris Hilton, Paul Sorvino, and singer Sarah Brightman. For
the film, all of the actors perform their own songs!
This genre-bending 21st century opera features Nine Inch Nails-type
industrial rock, Italian and German opera, girl-punk, Tom Waits-inspired
cabaret, hip hop-flavored electronica, Asian pop, ballads, jazz, an
absurdist techno Renaissance troubadour tune, as well as elements from more
traditional musicals. Famed Japanese musician and composer Yoshiki from the
legendary rock band X-Japan produced the music together with Joe Bishara.
