Despised Icon Complete Highly Successful European Tour
Montreal extremists DESPISED ICON just completed a highly successful tour of Europe, which included their first trip to Russia, with Misery Index and Beneath the Massacre. The group now prepares for a slew of upcoming Mexican dates leading them into the much anticipated Summer Slaughter tour. More info to follow soon and stay tuned to www.myspace.com/despisedicon for constant updates.
Alex Erian (vocals) states: “We started this European tour with no expectations. I mean it was only our second time, not to mention BTM’s first time, in Europe so we figured we were mostly into it to hang out with our boys in BTM and MI and play in front of 100 metalheads a night. But after about a week of playing in packed venues, we understood that this tour was gonna be killer. Much respect to everyone that came out to the shows, had a good time and turned this into something special for us. I haven’t had this much fun on tour in a while. We plan on coming back to Europe in August for a short festival run with Cephalic Carnage. See you there!
“To celebrate this band’s six year anniversary, we decided to go to Mexico! This tour will mark our first time in Mexican territory. We can’t wait to visit around and rock out there for five days in a row. Expect brutal shows, furious Mexican metal and hardcore bands and lots of Tequila. Come hang out amigos.”

The buzz currently surrounding DESPISED ICON is undeniable after the Montreal based quintet recently completed an unprecedented fourth tour of North America this year in support of their highly acclaimed new album The Ill’s of Modern Man. Their savage, frenetic energy on stage leaves crowds in a state of amazement through sheer aggressiveness backed with impeccable time changes, scathing blast beats and devastating breakdown assaults. These Canadians walk a fine line between the death metal and grindcore genres, resulting in an exciting juxtaposition that will leave all fans of extreme music begging for more.
