Down Announces New Tour Dates

December 11, 2007 – New Orleans, LA: After successful runs on the “Heaven and Hell” Tour in Australia and “An Evening With Down” Tour in the US, DOWN prepares to embark on the second leg of their US tour beginning on January 19 in Birmingham, AL and continuing through February 19 in Nashville, TN in support of their third album, DOWN III-OVER THE UNDER.

Released on September 25th on Down Records/Warner ILG, DOWN III-OVER THE UNDER has received critical acclaim, including a FOUR STAR review from Rolling Stone and inclusion of their Top 50 Records of 2007, calling it one of the best hard rock records of the year:

“Over The Under is not yet the hard-rock album of ’07; there is some time to go. But it is a main contender.”~David Fricke, Rolling Stone

After releasing two records mainly as a side project, the band got together in the months before Hurricane Katrina to start working on new material. The band reconnected in New Orleans in the aftermath of Katrina with a newfound purpose and focus on DOWN, and began work on their most ambitious record to date. Having already tapped Warren Riker, who produced their 2nd release, DOWN II-A Bustle in Your Hedgerow, the band demoed some 18 songs in Nodferatu’s Lair, Philip Anselmo’s studio in the swamps, with engineer David “Puma’ Troia. In February of 2007, the band commenced recording on their 3rd and most committed record to date. Recorded in Los Angeles between February and July, 15 songs were ultimately cut for OVER THE UNDER. The result is over 60 minutes of genre-defying music further solidifying their place at the forefront of heavy rock as only DOWN can do.
