Eyes Of Eden Unleashes Debut Album; New Video Segments Posted Online

While working behind the scenes as chief producer and sometime co-songwriter for Lacuna Coil, Sentenced, Moonspell and Samael, Waldemar Sorychta developed a signature sound that would make him the point man for bands looking for sweeping song structures and pitch black atmosphere. Inspired and excited about venturing into the studio with his own project, EYES OF EDEN, Sorychta recorded material with Gas Lipstick of HIM fame on drums. This material makes up the bulk of the band’s debut album, Faith, which is now available everywhere. Be sure to visit www.myspace.com/eyesofedenband to view some interesting behind-the-scenes video segments.

A mystical darkness envelops Faith like a thin, swift layer of mist, giving it an almost haunting sense of beauty. While Sandra Schleret was originally slated as the band’s singer, health issues kept her away from the studio, prompting the band to look for a new vocalist. Fortunately, the band got lucky and found an equally gifted set of pipes in 21 year-old Franziska Huth. Years of vocal training and live shows made her a perfect fit for EYES OF EDEN.

It’s only natural that EYES OF EDEN shares some similarities with bands that Sorychta helped develop, but pigeonholing this band is a dangerous proposition. As influential as his time with Lacuna Coil was on his own band’s sound, he takes an equal dose of inspiration from his time playing with thrash acts Grip Inc. and Despair, so you can be sure there are plenty of hard-rocking riffs that keep Faith heavy. While many might listen to the album in candlelight, others can certainly scream along to the heavier tracks. No matter what your metal proclivities might be, Faith is an album you can sink your teeth into with no hesitation.
