NAPALM DEATH Release New Full-Length Album
Two decades after inventing grindcore, NAPALM DEATH continue to demonstrate that
their work is far from done and that their art is now more relevant than ever. The
group returns to
the forefront of extreme metal with the critically acclaimed new full-length
release, Time Waits For No Slave, which is available now.
NAPALM DEATH make their much anticipated return to North America for the first time
in support of the new album on April 10th headlining the Decibel Magazine and
Lambgoat.com sponsored trek with Kataklysm, Toxic Holocaust, Abigail Williams and

Time Waits For No Slave was produced by Russ Russell, who has worked with the band
on their four prior albums as well, at Wales’ Foel Studios (My Bloody Valentine,
Porcupine Tree, Godflesh). The album sees NAPALM DEATH evolve one step further to
create a more dynamic sound while still maintaining the sheer brutality and ferocity
that has come to be expected from the group.
Barney (vocals) further comments: “We have been absolutely taken aback by how the
new album has been received. I have always wanted spontaneity in how NAPALM delivers
the music, so it’s nice to know that people are really raving about something that
is not cold and calculated. I don’t think it’s really important to start making
comparisons to previous NAPALM DEATH albums, but I think we are as naturally focused
as we ever have been and it stands on it’s own as an achievement for me because I
did so much with my vocals without losing that aforementioned spontaneity and
extremity. Add to this that we’ve been asked to do covers for magazines like Decibel
and Metal Maniacs and sometimes it becomes hard to take in, especially when you
consider that everything we do musically is done entirely without consideration of
how we can somehow maximize coverage.
“The lineup for our North American headlining tour in April is stellar and
personally I’m especially pumped to see Trap Them on the bill, as they have restored
my faith in extreme music generally. Us? We’ll be pushing the ‘go’ button again and
hopefully blazing away like it’s 1986 all over again – fast, faster, faster still.
“We are due to shoot a new video for ‘Time Waits For No Slave’ this week and it will
hopefully encompass all the features of a dour, sterile, product-driven world and
the sheer joy of freeing up your mind and appreciating the simplicity of the world
evolving around you rather than flogging yourself to death all the time to get
ahead. It’s being done in Norwich (Eastern UK) with Tom Blyth, who you might not
have heard of. But he was in a really old UK hardcore band called Goober Patrol. We
saw his work and he really seem to understand the art of protest without the
cheesiness or cliché. We look forward to seeing you all soon.”
