Swedish metal powerhouse AMON AMARTH’s brand new album, Twilight of the
Thunder God, debuts at #48 on the Billboard Top 200 chart today,
shifting over 11,000 units in its first week of release.

Released in North America on September 30 via Metal Blade Records,
Twilight of the Thunder God is AMON AMARTH’s seventh full-length album,
and is the highest charting record in the band’s sales history. Twilight
of the Thunder God’s first week sales are roughly three times the
opening tally of its predecessor, “With Oden on Our Side”, which
premiered with 3,400 units sold back in October, 2006. Twilight of the
Thunder God also debuted at #5 on the Billboard Independent Albums
Chart, #6 on the Billboard Hard Albums Chart, #12 on the Billboard
Tastemakers Chart and at # 16 on the Billboard Rock Albums Chart.

Additionally, AMON AMARTH vaults to the #1 position at college radio
this week. Propelled by the single and video for the album’s title
track, Twilight of the Thunder God sits atop the CMJ Loud Rock chart,
besting new albums by Metallica, All That Remains, Trivium and Slipknot
amongst others. The band also graces the cover of Decibel Magazine’s
November, 2008 issue, which hits newsstands on October 9. A sneak peek
at the striking cover – featuring AMON AMARTH vocalist Johan Hegg – can

AMON AMARTH is currently in the midst of a fall, 2008 North American
headlining tour and will play The Starlite Room in Edmonton, AB this
evening. The scheduled 3 week trek will run through October 21 and
includes a NYC live date at The Fillmore at Irving Plaza on October 20.
Following the completion of the North American headlining tour, AMON
AMARTH will embark on a month-long European tour as hand-picked support
for thrash metal titans Slayer and the band’s “Unholy Alliance Chapter
III” tour. Also appearing on the tour will be Mastodon and Trivium. A

New York, NY: What was Roadrunner Records supposed to do after the label
corralled 56 musicians from 44 different bands spanning the label’s
entire 25-year history to release one groundbreaking album, called
Roadrunner United: The All-Star Sessions? Simple. Throw one helluva
party!

The label did just that, holding a party complete with an all-star
performance by artists once and currently signed to the label, as well
as friends of the company.

Roadrunner is pleased to announce the release of Roadrunner United The
Concert on December 9, 2008. The double-disc set hits shelves almost
three years to the day after the now-legendary concert held at the Nokia
Theater in Times Square in New York City on December 15, 2005. The
concert enjoyed a cult, “You had to be there!” status in the metal and
hard rock scenes and now Roadrunner is giving the label’s diehard
followers a chance to witness the event for themselves.

Roadrunner United The Concert captures the festive intensity of the
evening. A house band, featuring members of core Roadrunner acts such as
Slipknot, Sepultura and Machine Head, performed hits and classics culled
from the entirety of the Roadrunner catalog. Some of the highlights
included Slipknot/Stone Sour vocalist Corey Taylor performing “Bother”
with Life of Agony’s Keith Caputo; former Killswitch Engage singer Jesse
Leach dueting with current vocalist Howard Jones for KsE’s “My Last
Serenade”; an assortment of frontmen handling vocals for staple songs
like Slipknot’s “(Sic)” and “Surfacing,” Machine Head’s “Davidian,” King
Diamond’s “Abigail,” Sepultura’s “Refuse/Resist,” Type O Negative’s
“Black No. 1,” Soulfly’s “Eye For an Eye” as well as four songs from the
Roadrunner United: The All-Star Sessions album. The double disc set also
includes a 75-minute documentary, complete with interviews and
behind-the-scenes footage, making it an even more intimate, fan-friendly
experience!

The DVD is essential for those who’ve followed Roadrunner from its
humble beginnings as a Dutch import label to the powerhouse, gold
standard in hard rock and heavy metal that it has become.
